Capital cities ranked by elevation
Capital cities in order of elevation, highest first, read from the terrain grid at each city's coordinates. Which towns count as capitals comes from GeoNames (feature code PPLC), which includes the capitals of dependent territories. Bolivia appears as Sucre, its constitutional capital; La Paz, the seat of government, is higher still but is coded by GeoNames as a seat of government rather than a capital, so it is not in this list.
